Who are we?

Moja is a Non-governmental organization that was established in 2013 in Najaf city

Moja was founded by a group of university students, who envisioned a brighter future for their country, and shared common values and practices that consolidate freedom, justice, and equality within Iraq.
Moja has emerged in a very critical time, where Iraq was witnessing very significant upheavals, synchronizing with war on ISIL, terrorist attacks in Baghdad, and demonstrations in the west. Conflict and political instability caused widespread human rights abuses, in response to this, Moja worked to protect the rights and freedoms of individuals, to preserve diversity under the umbrella of the rule of law, where power is held accountable to the people through transparent and participatory governance structures.
Moja operates at both local and international level, advocating for justice for victims of violence, discrimination, and abuse. It works to raise awareness of human rights violations and provide support to those affected by them. Though its work is often challenging and dangerous, Moja plays a vital role in promoting a more just society and defending the fundamental rights of all Iraqis.
