A hashtag campaign on social media launched after an incident in which a student from the College of Engineering, University of Basra, was dismissed after he published a post on Facebook, in which he simply criticized the college’s politics, where the team launched the hashtag, and a campaign of solidarity with the student from all universities in Iraq began.
In addition to the students, many Iraqi social media users have expressed solidarity with the student.
It is not limited to the borders of Iraq, the defenders of freedom of expression are many in this world and they rushed to support the student.
Muhammad Idan was returned to school after the pressures faced by the university and the ministry of higher education regarding its repressive policies towards student opinions, and the hashtag continued to support students in similar incidents.
